Yamaha Royal Star Pictures

The four Royal stars or Guardians of the Sky were a group of stars noticed by the Persian astrologers around 3000 BC and used as a rudimentary season calendar.[citation needed]
All four stars are among the brightest 25 stars, having an apparent magnitude of less than 1.5. However, this particular set of stars was chosen because they are divided on the sky by approximately 6 hours apart in right ascension. The reason why they are called "royal" is that they appear to stand aside from the other stars in the sky. Throughout a year, each star is for several months "dominant" on the night sky and one can guess the season just by noticing which star is dominant.
When Yamaha decided to create a classic touring bike that turns every head on the block with its sleek sophistication and good looks, we realized there was only one place to start: paint it black.
We did that, and then we added even more chrome to create the Royal Star Midnight Venture. It's got the eye-popping style and the smooth performance of a luxury touring bike, with two very appealing added features: a surprisingly low price tag and a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

Motorcycles are now a fad among youngsters. Yamaha Motor Company Limited is a Japanese company that designs and manufactures vehicles. Yamaha Motor Company Limited was initially a part of Yamaha Corporation. Yamaha?s motorcycle, Yamaha Dragstar, which is sold under the V-star name in United States, is a cruiser motorcycle.
The Yamaha Dragstar has a comfortable low seat and is relatively light in weight. The Star offers better drivability through greater torque generation for the new mid-size cruiser bike. The American version of this motorbike has a lower horsepower of 33 at 6500 revolutions per minute. The Dragstar?s styling is inspired from the Harley?s Fatboy model, implying that it has fatter mudguards than the standard bike. The seat height is relatively lower on the custom model. The V-Star drew a huge following earlier, which led to the addition of the classic model in 2000. Unlike the Custom model?s bobbed rear fender, 110 front tire, exposed forks, and other customizations, the Classic model had longer and bigger fenders. Furthermore, the classic model also has a longer and bigger floorboard, fork covers, and a 130 front tire.
The Yamaha Dragstar motorcycle comes in various models; Yamaha Dragstar 250, Yamaha Dragstar 400, Yamaha Dragstar 650, and Yamaha Dragstar 1100. The Dragstar 1100, essentially, comes in two versions, the XVS1100, and the XVS1100A. The XVS1100 has a more contemporary style, while the XVS1100A has a more classic style, with rounder edges. The later model, the Silverado, featured a windscreen, soft sidebags, sissy bars etc. The torque and the sleek style of this cruiser motorcycle make this motorcycle one of the more sturdy and stable models from the range.

The Yamaha Road Star
Undertaken on my bike. Total time was about 2 1/2 hours. It probably could have been done in 45 minutes to an hour but I was taking pics and making notes. I recently acquired a set of "Hurricane Studded" bags from Mike Battles at Custom Classic Saddlebags, which happened to come with a set of Easy Brackets. The Hurricane's are generic bags not made specifically for the Road Star (more about the bags at the end of the article), so this set of instructions should apply to just about any bike with Generic bags assuming the correct Easy Bracket kit is ordered to fit the bike.
I am fair weathered motorcyclist and like to have my boys toys to play with. I am off tomorrow to purchase the actual bike shown. It is a mint condition Yamaha YZF-R1 high performance 1000cc sports bike, 160hp, standing quarter of a mile in 10.2 seconds and a top speed of 175mph. It has only done 9000 miles and never been used in the wet, and comes with a full service history. If you believe there's more to life than work, and the real definition of freedom 55 is riding your bike without a care at 55 mph, then the heart of a cruiser beats within you. If you believe that chrome and leather are the basic building blocks of life, and that the only real artery is made of asphalt then jump on a Yamaha and experience the pleasure of cruising the endless black ribbon.

This page contains technical date, photographs and specifications for some of the world's most powerful production motorcycles and super-street race bikes.
Light, powerful and bristling with knowledge gained from years of racing, the YZF-R6 is the most advanced production middleweight motorcycle Yamaha - or anybody else - has ever built. * The YZF-R6 was the first production motorcycle with a fly-by-wire throttle system?or flawless response under all conditions. * Straight frame concept: developed from the Yamaha M1 GP machine, the YZF-R6? steering head, swingarm pivot and rear axle all lie in a straight line?or unsurpassed handling?ith an inline four-cylinder engine designed for optimal layout and mass centralization. * Slipper-type back torque-limiting clutch greatly facilitates braking/down shifting from high speed. * Formula 1-style air management presents very small frontal area for excellent aerodynamics; ram-air induction ducts cool, high-pressure air through the steering head for optimal combustion, more horsepower and enhanced engine cooling. * The YZF-R6 is the AMA Supersport Champion in its rookie season. * Compact, lightweight 67 x 42.5mm 599cc DOHC 16-valve liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder features titanium valves, 12.8:1 compression and compact combustion chambers for awesome, lightning-quick response. * YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) uses a powerful ECU and multiple sensors to provide perfect, smooth engine response and optimal power whenever the throttle is twisted, under all conditions. * Twin-injector fuel injection: shower-type injectors above each intake funnel help achieve optimum fuel atomization at high rpm. * Back torque-limiting slipper clutch greatly facilitates braking and downshifting from high speed. Close-ratio six-speed transmission delivers seamless power and maximum acceleration. * Despite the increased bore, piston and pin weight has been reduced for more power and smoothness; 1mm smaller main journals reduce friction while 1mm larger connecting rod journals increase performance. * Compact slant-block engine design uses widely triangulated gearbox shafts to make the GP-derived, straight frame concept work; optimum weight distribution and excellent handling are the result. * GP-style titanium muffler contributes to mass centralization, and contains EXUP, an O2 sensor and catalyzers for a broad powerband, spot-on injection and EU-3 emissions compliance. * Linerless, direct-plated ceramic-composite cylinder bores mean greater heat dissipation for consistent power delivery and reduced friction?lso a narrow engine. * Cool magnesium valve and engine covers are light and stylish. Curved radiator with twin-ring cooling fans keeps everything cool. * Direct ignition coils, dual-electrode spark plugs and high-output magneto deliver extremely accurate, reliable firing.

The Harley Travel
After picking up the bikes in Los Angeles and nervously negotiating our first six-lane freeway, we were all guilty of some rather unnecessary blips of the throttle as the sense of freedom that we had been anticipating for the past five months became reality.
The itinerary was planned around reservations at The French Laundry, Thomas Keller's signature restaurant in Yountville, and Alice Waters’s famous Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley. From Los Angeles we headed north up Highway 1 via Big Sur to San Francisco, north again around Napa and Sonoma before heading south along the Sierra Nevada and west through the deserts, Death Valley and Las Vegas. The road that would bring us back towards LA was one of the remaining sections of historic Route 66.
It was all great biking country — good tarmac, little traffic other than in cities, no speed cameras and a huge variety of roads, from gently meandering wine routes to challenging hill passes and desert roads. In all we clocked up 2,100 miles. Napa and Sonoma, together with the lesser-known areas of Alexander Valley and Russian River, are easy wine regions to visit, with tastings at most vineyards. The more exclusive ones charge for the pleasure: we paid $25 each to sample half a glass of the superb 2001 Opus One at the futuristic Opus One Winery and a further $15 at Silver Oak to taste what became one of the wines of the trip, their 2001 Alexander Valley cabernet.
For me the two days of desert riding was where the sense of adventure was at its peak. Having ridden along the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and attempted to cross into Death Valley via Yosemite (impassable after rock falls), we decided to enter the desert from the south. We had made reservations at Furnace Creek Ranch, having calculated our distance that day at about 350 miles.

I have been impressed from our first talk about how positive they are. Mr. Johnson is particularly upbeat. Even when being held at gunpoint he remained nonplussed. His attitude is you just treat everybody like your next door neighbor and everything will be fine.
Just recently I had the chance to speak briefly to Johnson from Horizon's. Unlimited home base in London and asked him if world events, particularly the rise in energy prices was having an effect on world motorcycle travel. I was surprised when he answered no.
he new BMW R1200 RT - fulfilling the dream of motorcycle travel through active touring BMW Motorrad has always exerted a considerable influence in the touring motorcycle segment and continues to lead, where others follow. In fact, it has a worldwide market share of more than 41 per cent. The RT 'Boxer' is the most successful BMW Motorrad tourer ever. The R1150 RT has consistently been a market leader, enjoying a particularly loyal customer base despite repeated attempts from other manufacturers to capture a market share.
Since it was launched in the UK in March 2001 over 2,350 R1150 RTs have been sold, making it the second most popular model in the current range behind the R1200 GS. Customers buy it for its outstanding ride comfort, long distance capability, fuel economy, performance, excellent ergonomics and luggage carrying capacity. Its successor - the new R1200 RT - is the second model of the new Boxer generation and is predestined to become the ultimate touring machine. It has been improved significantly in all the above areas. It is more powerful than its predecessor, faster, significantly lighter, has improved wind and weather protection, better fuel economy and an increased tank range (as well as longer service intervals than its competitors).
